Water's Edge 2007

In 2007, I was invited as artist and workshop tutor by Noosa Gallery to Floating Lands and Rockhampton City Gallery for the North Kepple Island Environmental Art workshop. I also visited Low Isles off Port Douglas as a Low Isles Preservation Society volunteer, where along with performing duties, I created work on the island as an adjunct to a local exhibition titled Low Isles - a fragile sanctuary.
These all presented unique opportunities to engage with sites at the waters edge, which had distinct histories and issues. By this time I had also gathered a stock of plastic, from beach walks, which I sorted into tubs of colour, a palette for a number of other works I created, exploring the issue of plastic waste in ocean currents.
